Kalila

She finally said her name!!! And it was halarious... I was talking to my mom on the phone and I put the baby on to talk to her. Mom said something or another (I forget) and then said "Kaliya" - because for some reason she can't say Kalila's name right... Now.. I stopped trying to correct her a long time ago... but apparently Kalila felt the need to try, because that's when she said it! It was great...

that is really cute! your mom wont say her name right? I am glad you have the control to stop correcting her... I think it would frustrate me tooo much. :-)

Yay Kalila!

If it's any consolation, most of my family say's Kairi's name wrong as well. Shoot, 90% of the world says it wrong. lol They pronounce it k-eye-REE when it's really KEYE-ree. I know it's a small difference, but it really does irk me. Then the rest of them call her Kiley or Carrie or Kaylin or Kila. I too, have given up on most of them ever pronouncing her name right. Everyone here in Florida can do it right, so that's what counts I suppose.

LOL - I've been wondering for awhile how to pronounce it... I wasn't sure if it was K-eye-ree, Key-ree or like Kerry.

The worst one we've gotten was Kalua, yes my daughter is named after an alcohol? She got called Khalil once at the dr's (at least someone understandable, is the boy version of the name and much more common)... but the two ongoing ones are mom's "Kaliya" and Ka-lil-a instead of Ka-lee-la, that one doesn't bother me as much because some people pronounce the boys name similarly so I can understand it.

Sorry Abby - missed your comment somehow... (I must be tired lol) yeah I know... It does frusterate me, but at the same time she just can't say it... We went through me saying it slowly and having her repeat the sylables and everything... She still couldn't do it. I blame it on her horrid accent.
